career and transition support |
This page is currently under construction.
Under the Career and Transition Support programme, we work closely with schools in our regions (Central Tablelands, Bathurst/Orange and Lachlan) to make sure all young people have access to a range of career development and transition support services. Local Community Partnerships do not directly deliver services to individual students. CWYTS works with local schools, industry bodies and community groups to make it easier for young to find and use services in their area.
Some aims of the Career and Transition Support programme include:
-
Helping young people understand their post-school options;
-
Making it easier for students to access career advice;
-
Promoting vocational and technical education and training; and
-
Encouraging parents, teachers and career advisers to better communicate.
Through the Career and Transition Support School and Community Sponsorship (contact your CTS Coordinators for application dates) schools are able to apply for funding to support career and transition projects happening within their school community. Some ideas for projects that your school may apply for funding to support include -
-
Work readiness programs;
-
Employability skills workshops;
-
Life and transition skills programs;
-
Industry visits and tours;
-
Career department resourcing;
-
Mentor programs;
-
Guest/motivational speakers;
-
Mock interviews;
-
Subscriptions to online career resources;
-
Parent workshops; or
-
Career Expos.
If you have any other ideas for a sponsorship application, please don’t hesitate to contact the CTS Coordinators (see our contacts page) to discuss it further!
