Central West NSW Youth Transition Services Inc. (CWYTS) is what is known as a ‘Local Community Partnership’, a not for profit organisation funded by the Federal Government to deliver part of the Career Advice Australia initiative. The role of the Local Community Partnership is to assist all young people aged 13-19 years to access career information and gain exposure to industry and vocational training.
CWYTS partners with secondary schools, industry and the wider community to form the collaborations needed to deliver career information projects, arrange mandatory student industry work placement and facilitate hands on learning experiences for students.
CWYTS staff are not career advisers, nor are they affiliated with any one school – CWYTS works with all schools (Public, Catholic and Independent) in the Central Tablelands, Bathurst/Orange and Lachlan regions. CWYTS is funded to work with all 13-19 year olds and therefore also works with community organisations and produces projects outside of the school environment. | |
